For businesses, this means going beyond the traditional and moving to digital. Over the years, Ooredoo Oman has cemented its position as the Sultanate’s digital partner of choice to businesses of all sizes.
Challenging market norms
Originally founded in the Sultanate as the challenger mobile operator under the name Nawras in 2004, Ooredoo Oman has worked to keep people connected. The company was awarded the second fixed licence in Oman in 2009, and a year later became a publicly listed company on the Muscat Stock Market (MSM). In 2012, Ooredoo initiated a network upgrade programme with an unprecedented level of investment.
In 2014, the company rebranded to Ooredoo, to align with the global group it was a part of; a leading international communications organisation that delivers mobile, fixed, broadband internet and corporate managed services tailored to the needs of its customers and businesses across the Middle East, North Africa, and Southeast Asia. A community-focused company, Ooredoo is guided by its vision to enrich people’s digital lives and its belief that it can stimulate human growth by leveraging communications to help people achieve their full potential.
